The Shower of Ecstasy

As I hurried down the way
To reach on time, for once
The skies turned grey
As if from a trance

Tried to keep my pace
For now there was reason
Without losing my grace
Cursed the clouds for treason

No unbrella
Not even to share
Mia, Lisa, Leah
None to spare

Had a long way ahead
The drops fell without warning
A few more shed
And the state would be mourning

As the water began to drench
Heard the saviour call
Wasn’t prepared for who it’d be
Through the rain the voice too small

Turned around to see
The sight most unprepared for
Didn’t know whether to shout in glee
Or scream in agony

Him; the memories flashed
Each of them clashed
For a moment the earth spun back
Felt as if it’d crack

From the emotions weighing down my heart
As I watched him come closer
Didn’t know where to start
It was now or never

As he drew me into the dryness
He smiled, though with a bit of awkwardness
Felt like life would no longer be a mess
That smile could cure any bitterness

If only time could freeze
Would give it anything to please
Didn’t matter whether it rained or snowed
To have him back was all that mattered

After every rain comes a rainbow
So did my face glow
With the happiness of a child
Who had found his lost toy
So did I find
My greatest joy

Thanked the skies
And the Lord above
For the delighted smiles
Of two souls profoundly in love

And the sun shone
Brightly as ever
as I hoped, not alone
That the smiles would last forever.

Fade Away…

Twilight bathed in serenity
Alluring winds of tranquility
We bid farewell
Enchanted by your spell
Lights like crystals shone
From now on I was to be alone
Never knew it’d be so fast
Should never have been the last
But your smile still remained
That which should not be erased
In the darkness of the grey
Your hues fade away.

You

I see a part of you in everything. When I see the colour of cinnamon, I remember your gentle gaze. When I see the early morning rays, I remember the strands of your hair that glint in the sunlight. When I see the colours of the rainbow, I remember the hues that you brought into my life. When I hear the sound of laughter, I remember your laugh that was contagious. When I see a baby smile, I remember your innocent smile. When I hear the sound of rustling leaves, I remember your voice that was music to my ears. When I see raindrops sliding through the glass, I remember the way you held my hand in the rain. I remember you in the smallest of things that exist in the largest possible ways.

Moon

She stared intently at the moon through the window pane. Her happiness was akin to the moon. On some days, it would vanish completely leaving behind no traces of its existence. Then it would gradually materialize from nowhere and rule the night sky with its radiance; but it is only ephemeral. It wanes away only to fall into a cycle. But there was something invariable. Just as the moon gets its light from the sun and the sun only, her happiness came from him.

Mould

I changed myself for you. Like a liquid that takes the shape of its container. Like the ice carved into a figurine. Like a fabric that traces the contours of the torso. Like the wax in a mould shaped into a candle. Like the air that fills the insides of a balloon. I moulded myself to fit your needs. I shaped myself into you. But what I did not realise was that was distorting myself in the process. And when you left, only your imprint remained etched into my being; in-erasable.

Lightning

Lightning is akin to flashbacks – rapid, reckless and unpredictable. They appear out of the blue, on shadowy nights accompanied by showers of melancholy. Their sojourn though ephemeral can leave blisters that last an eternity. For a moment they set ablaze the murky sky, only to leave it more obscure than before. I have always been afraid of lightning.

Day 1 – An impulse buy leading to intergalactic warfare

“Plots for sale in Audra”. Victor read it twice to make sure that he was not hallucinating. So this, was the next big thing.

Planet Audra had been in the news for quite some time. As an exquisite planet from Galaxy Omega, it never failed to captivate the citizens of planet Earth. Naturally, Victor too religiously kept himself updated about the planet from all possible sources.
Victor fell into an instant chain of thoughts. In a few years, there would be a technology to transport humans from planet Earth to planet Audra in a flash. Then we could go from Earth to Audra as if they were houses on the same street.

However, Victor was not free from antagonistic thoughts. Who would decide laws on planet Audra? At least now when we could not go to the planet yet. And of course the cost – who would decide what was apt? And how would anyone know if there would actually be a plot in your name? What if aliens exist? So many questions to be answered, but rational thinking had never been one of Victor’s strong points.
So eventually, he made headlines for something other than being an opulent beneficiary, which was enough to feed his pride. Repercussions could be dealt with later.
Dr. Triniculo and her team had the last laugh. It was amusing how the humans would believe anything; even the most ludicrous ideas in the name of science. Their brilliant concept of a resplendent planet in a faraway galaxy was more than successful and Victor was their latest victim.

News flash 2080:

1864 die in intergalactic war.

Victor, a citizen of planet Earth from the Milky Way Galaxy had claimed the ownership of a plot in planet Audra from Omega Galaxy. This marked the beginning of an everlasting war between the citizens of both the planets. A recent attack by the citizens of planet Audra has resulted in the cumulative death of 1864 citizens from the both the planets.
